It has been a while since comp-hardware was on my mind, back when 2.6GHz (533 fsbs) Nwoods were second tier high end! (My 2.6 was 400MHz fsb, however)
Now I've temp-upgraded to a 3.2 Nwood w/ ht and D stepping I have clockgen, what I don't seem to have is the knowledge of if and how the agp/pci clocks can be locked using clockgen when oc'ing the CPU's fsb. Also I have two fans, and after reviewing the sticky-list am still undecided as to which I should use.
Can the agp/pci clock be locked through Clockgen? If so, how? If not, is there another CPU OCing program that allows me to do this?
What is your suggestion as far as HS/Fan goes:
Thermaltake Spark 7+ 'Xaser Edition' or the Zalman 7000AlCu?
If it is the Zalman you pick, it seems that even after screwing in the HS as tightly as possible it can still be jiggled to and fro, this cannot be good, right? Or, is this in some cruel way natural?
Finally, what is best for cleaning off the old thermal compound from a cpu?
Thanks for your incites!
