OCing a Gateway Laptop

Can it be done there is nothing in the bios to do it ... does anyone know of a hacked bios i can download for a gateway 600 series notebook.

I have 356mb of ram and 1.6P4m but cpu-z says its only running at 99.7 x 12 = 1196mhz
 
I don't think its possible and probably it will overheat because it has such a small heatsink.
 
check with gateway, you might need a patch or something, it sounds like your cpu is automatically underclocking 'cause it thinks it's in battery mode.
 
you wanna overclock it? go into power management and set it to "always on"

itll kill battery life tho.

(the cpu ramps up to max when needed anyway, dont worry about it)
 
when you are checking the clock speed, is the processor at 100% load? If not, then run some intense benchmark and look at the clock speed. You may be seeing "clock-throttling".
 
Ok you were right i just need to change the power management

I guess i will let it throttle though
