Hi, I tried to OC my CPU but it doesn't work , it is P4 2.53, 533mhz, Abit IT7-Max2 mobo. I restarted my computer and hit Delete, i went to the menu and change the clock speed to 2800/133, changed the voltage to 1.55, i saved the setting, restarted to Windows. now i right click My computer and go to properties, the speed still showing 2.53, what have i done wrong.

I remembered that's how i did it when i had my old 1.6a cpu.

It should be near the multiplier setting and listed as "FSB Frequency" or something. You may have to change other settings to allow you to adjust it, though (probably "CPU Timing" or something - it should have settings like "Turbo", "Aggressive", and "Expert") You can change the FSB from there.

I assume you know how to OC, but a word of caution, though: go slowly and be patient, only bumping it up about 5 MHz at a time. Test it for stability each time. You may need to bump up the voltage a bit.

Good luck!

Thanks man, I saw the FSB Frequency, but it is locked. I tried to find other settings to unlock it, but i can't find something like CPU timing or anything like that. I probably being annoying, but this forum has no search function, i can't do anything about it.
so my Bios menu being like this:

-SoftMenu III (lets me change the internal clock speed and CPU, DRAM voltage, all others are locked)
-Standard CMOS Features
-Advanced Bios Features
-Integrated Peripherals
-Power Management setup
-PnP/PCI configuration
-PC Health status

where can i possibly find the right setting to unclock the Bus Frequency. Thank you very much!!!

Not a problem - I love helping people, it gives me a sense of self-worth and helpfulness, but mostly it just boosts my ego. :D

All I have for reference is my Phoenix BIOS on my system, and the setting there is "System Performance." There are three options: "Optimal", "Turbo", and "Expert." There ought to be a similar command in your BIOS...
