I've got roughly 450 for an upgrade: MOBO, RAM, CPU

I'im getting a 4 month used danger den WC setup from a friend at a discount:

-Maze 4 AMD clip mount setup,
-Black Ice rad, and an Antec 120mm fan.
- Eheim 1250 Pump,
- little plastic res.

Its setup and barbed for 1/2" I only need to get new tubing /water supplies.

I'll pay roughly 70$ to ym friend for his items.

Now as to what this thread is for:

I'm gonna upgrade to take advantage of the WC setup:
I'm planning on something along the lines of:

MOBO: ABIT NF7-S from newegg, or ABIT AN7
OR
DFI Ultra infinity

CPU: Athlon XP-M 2400, or a 2500

MEMORY:
Corsair XMS 2x512 pair 2-3-3-8
OR
Kingston HyperX Series Dual Kits 184 Pin 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-3500
OR
Mushkin 184 Pin 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-3500 Level One Dual Pack - Retail
OR
Mushkin 184 Pin 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-3200 "222 Special" Dual Pack - Retail

Now I need to keep it cheap as possible but I want to take my athlong Mobile XP (with watercooling) to the max but stable enough to last a few years.

Which mobo, cpu, memory would you guys advise for best OC's at cheapest price. Options I havne't listed are welcome thanks.

DFI Infinity for mobo, hands down.
2400 mobile for cpu is your best bet.
222 special mushkin is probably the best memory you have listed.. its bh-6.. but khx 3000 is really good too.

edit.. yes i meant 3000, even though its not listed.

How well is that mushkin memory?

How high should I push the mem voltage to maintain the lifetime warrenty?
how far will it likely go past 200mhz maintaing low timings?

I think ill be going with the mushkin 222 special. How high have people been able to take that specific ram at 2-2-2-11? at what voltage?

I promise you youve got a better bet with khx 3000.. its either bh-5 or bh-6 (bh-5>6) and I think its cheaper.. if its not cheaper than the 222 may be better. THeyre really pretty close, and past that its all just luck. You could be looking at ~ 230-250 with like 3.3 volts (which the infinity will do stock) if youre lucky.

I suppose I'll try that khx 3000 (I hope it'll operate at LEAST 200mhz 2-2-2-11 at 2.9V or lower.)

Now about watercooling.
The parts I'll have from dangerden are: all 1/2" ID
-Black ice pro Radiator.
-Maze 4 AMD cpu block.
-Eheim 1250
-Clear round reservoir.

I got a 1u rackmount copper HSF on my 9600Pro so I won't need any gpu blocks. And on hte DFI infinity I don't plan on going above 220-230mhz fsb (keeping mem at 1:1) so I doubt i'll need a northbridge block also... right?

What does everyone advise for a circuit? w/o any advice I'd do:
Pump > CPU > Res > Rad.

Also I think ill mount the rad in the top of my Lian Li midtower.

As far as tubing and water:
-Is the Clearflex 60 a good enough tubing? or must I go with tygon?
-What should I sue for water additives and proportions?
- Just distilled + wetter? or Do Zerex Racing Super Coolant + wetter+ distilled?

thanks

the khx pc3000 seems to be consistent stuff. Tell you the truth, i've yet to see anyone complain about it.

I don't think that 200fsb cas 2-2-2-11 @ <2.9v is a tall order to fill.

Have fun

Athlon xp Mobile 2400 oem
and kingston hyperx 2x512 pc3000.
