OC an x800 pro???

I have an ATI AGP x800 Pro 256mb card and I would like to know if it is possible and worth OCin the thing. I want to play FEAR which requires all the video power you can afford and since I am not planning on a new card for a year at least what can I do to get the most out of this card with a graphics intensive game like FEAR.

Check to see if you have a VIVO. If you do than you should be able to flash your X800pro with a X800XT PE BIOS. That would give you quite a large performance boost.

X800pro wasn't a very popular card since it got quite thoroughly pwn3d by the 6800GT, but I'm sure that you will still be able to find some tutorials on how to flash it somewhere.
 
How do i check to see if its vivo? shoudl I just pop the top on my box and check the card?
 
There is the yellow video connection thing near the power connector. Also, there is a chip on the top larger than the memory modules that has somthing to do with vivo (I think...)

Its also possible to mod an x800 Pro PCI-E, but it might require a pin mod.
 
I flashed mine with a modded pro bios that opened up the other 4 pipes. the card easily overclocks to xtpe speeds and beyond. mine is a vivo from asus though.
 
Even the regular x800pro is a very good card. I had mine clocked at 621/571.
3dmark05 = 6200
3dmark03 = 12700
3dmark01 = 28000

It was an awesome card. Sold it to a guy in Mexico and it is still going strong.

And I still think the image quality of the X800pro is better than my 7800gt...
