System in sig
Using v12 bios
The goal here is to reach 3.6
Right now its running perfectly stable at 3 - 333x9 at stock voltage. Just put it at 3 because I was tired of resetting the cmos.
When I try to up FSB past 3.2(which i have booted into windows just fine at with stock vcore) the system won't post at all, just a black screen.
I've tried upping vcore but not much past 1.4
Ram shouldn't be the problem, running at 1:1 and its ddr2 800 and I'm using lax timings
VID on my chip is 1.275

Anyone else experience this with a IP35-e? I havn't tried raising the northbridge voltage, that is something else I plan on trying when I get back home later.

Any hints or experiance with this would be helpful as it is a pain resetting the cmos after every attempt. The jumper just has to be under my video card and my hands don't fit very well

Oh yeah, cooling is a Big Typhoon
Temps look really good. Usually idle around 28C and load just into 50C if that, usually while playing Crysis its at 45C

IF you have three pieces of thin wire you can strip the ends and coil them around the CMOS reset pins, then put some clay or sticky-tack over them to hold them on. Connecting two will reset, connecting the other two will run normally. Of course, this is a rather involved project considering the results and shouldn't be necessary.

There should be a setting for voltage to the northbridge. You might consider upping that a bit. Also, the cooling on that board is not the best, so you may not be able to get 3.6 stable without replacing it due to heat issues with the northbrige and southbridge.

Also, many chips won't do 3.6 stable without ~1.5 vcore, and require very good cooling as a result. What HSF are you using?

Thats a good idea for the cmos jumpers, I am gonna think about doing that

HSF is a Big Typhoon
I am overestimating my temps in the above post also, I am very impressed with how this thing cools, and I keep my room cool which helps.

Just wondering if anybody else has had touble getting a IP35-e to post at all with an o/c

Edit: yay, took almost 4 years but I am an [H]Lite!
