nvMixer Clone Mode Problem

I would have posted this on the nVidia forums, but their registration process seems to be broken. Also, I didn't have high hopes of getting an anser over there.

I've got a Shuttle SN95G5 (nForce3 Ultra) and Logitech X-530's hooked up to the onboard 5.1 sound jacks. The speakers work fine, with clear separation etc. when watching 5.1 DVDs. I've got the latest nForce unified driver package installed.

In nvMixer, under Surround Settings, I'd like to select "Clone" to have the rear speakers mirror the front when playing 2-channel MP3s, etc. However, when I do, nothing comes out of the rear speakers. The VU Meters don't even show activity on the rear channels. The same goes when I try to use the Delay mode using x milliseconds (preferably 0, which would essentially be Clone mode). No cloning on the rear speakers.

Using the Delay mode with the various presets is the only way I can get it to clone the output to the rear speakers. However, all of these presets sound absolutely shitty. I really just want a direct clone, since the rear speakers are only two feet away.

If anyone knows why my Clone mode won't work, I'd appreciate your advice!

EDIT: Clone mode DOES work during the nvMixer Speaker Wizard setup, just not any other times. :p

are you using winamp for your mp3 playback? if so goto preferences/output/ and select directsound then click configure and check use hardware accel.. only thing I can think to suggest
 
Wow, good call. Hardware acceleration was disabled in Winamp. I should have tested it on other software to narrow it down to Winamp. *bonks head* Never noticed the "configure" button down there before!

NP.. it's actually something I always make sure I check when I do a fresh install, for the same reason you like the surround stereo. glad to have helped
