Nvidia's upcoming physx solution

Will nvidia's upcoming phyx solution require a SLI capable board? Or can board with two 16x pcie lanes be able to use it? IE will a intel board with two 16x pcie slots be able to use it?
 
I don't think it requires SLI per se - I'm pretty sure nVidia's solution will be able to run both graphics and physics on a single card.

But I'm also pretty sure you won't be able to dedicate one card to physics in that setup. My understanding is that under Havok FX, physics are calculated on the GPU and the results are drawn right there, without the CPU getting involved. It's the SLI bridge that allows two cards to pull this off without sending any data back out on the PCIe bus.

So you may well be shit out of luck. nVidia could throw something together to get it working, but I doubt they'll bother when such a small share of the market have setups like this. Besides, the last thing they're looking to do is give you a reason not to buy a SLI board....
