I just finished putting together a new system yesterday, running off of windows xp 64 bit, but now that I see the latest NVidia drivers for it are for July.. I'm thinking twice about staying with this OS. Right now I'm running a 6800 gt, so I'd like to be able to have somewhat recent drivers.. My Question is, does anyone know where I can download more current drivers? I don't really care if they are certified yet or not, just something newer than half a year would be nice.

check www.guru3d.com

I don't remember a newer release than those. The drivers work OK, OpenGL performance is at parity with WinXP 32-bit. D3D performance is slower, but it might be due to the beta DX in WniXP 64-bit.

Hmm ok.. Do you think I should just go back to windows 2000? (don't have an xp version) Seeing as my computer is going to be used primarily for playing games, and drivers are a pretty big factor in making it perform ok

absolutely. I was in exactly the same situation as you. And nvidias support for 64bit drivers is hardly no par with their support for 32bit. Its still too early, youre wasting your time and fps using xp64.
