Nvidia surround without displayport

Is this possible? I know that eyefinity requires the use of at least one display port. Although there was an unusual sapphire card that did not, most AMD cards required the use of a displayport cable for eyefinity to work. How can nvidia cards be connected to their monitors?
 
Depends on what video card you're talking about. If you're talking about the gtx600 series you can use whatever port you want. If you're talking about gtx500 series or earlier you'll need to use two cards in SLI (which don't have DisplayPort). I'm guessing you're talking about 600 series since you're mentioning DisplayPort.

You're suppose to be able to use any port you want with nVidia's 2D Surround however some people have been running into issues when trying to do two DVI along with one connected via HDMI. So it's best if you use all three DVI or two DVI and one DisplayPort if you can. 3D Surround on the other hand requires all the digital connectors to be the same.
 
apparently "geforce".com is blocked. You'll have to add it manually after the www. Good website though with lots of info about the 680 surround setup.
 
I have 3 monitors all connected via DVI, at a resolution 3240x1920. GPU= 480's in SLI
 
Prior to the 600 series since Surround only worked with SLI with the exception of dual-GPU cards and a special Asus card you could hook up all monitors with DVI, you had to use DVI only connections with 3D Surround

With the 600 with a single GPU single card setup you can use two DVI connections and either the HDMI or DP connection with 2D Surround but you must use the DP connection in addition to the two DVIs for 3D Surround.
