nvidia ntune - stable now?

I have an XFX 680i LT board and a E6600 cpu (soon to get a E8400) and I haven't had much luck overclocking. Mainly because I don't have the patience and when I need to clear the CMOS, I pretty much need to take out the video card to get to the CMOS jumper. Took a couple of CMOS clears to realize I really didn't want to mess with that. So I'm running at stock speed.

I never installed ntune because everyone said it was unstable. Well, I had to reinstall Windows and everything that goes with it the other night and I decided to install ntune and the latest patch. Haven't tried it yet, but just wondering before I do, is it stable now?
 
It BSODed on me so I gave up on using it. I am going to be installing the ESA software suite that Nvidia just released. I am however not sure if it supports overclocking...but I suspect it does.
 
I've never had stability problems with nTune. I don't use it because the interface sucks and because many of the options in it don't work correctly.

Overclocking is still fucking broken in it at least in regard to SLI overclocking. The whole interface for setting rules is absolute crap. Not only is it cryptic but it doesn't fucking work and fan control is pathetic as well.
 
I do use ntune (just for video card), but I agree that it needs a lot of work. On Vista 64, I use it to enable and disable monitors, since I have a TV and two displays hooked up, I can "only" use two at a time. It takes 15 seconds to enable or disable a monitor. It took a second under XP, yet Vista has been out for over a year. WTF?

At least it doesn't crash my machine, but I'm not doing much gaming at the moment so the video card isn't overclocked at all.
 
I just use it to overclock my videocard, so far for the last past year I have not had any problems..
 
Your dog would probably be better at overclocking your system than nTune.

No to the question. I have worked with a ton of 680i SLI boards and aside from the ASUS Striker Extreme, and one older revision 680i SLI board, none of them have been completely stable. They all are at first (if they aren't DOA) but a month or two down the road and they start acting weird.

I've only worked with one 780i SLI board so far and it wasn't 100% stable either. It locked up or randomly rebooted a two or three times.
 
I tried using nTune once, it has alot of features included, but most of them just didn't work. Seriously.
 
alot of the features are greyed out, and only able to change in the bios...really its a worthless hunk of space on my harddrive right now.
