For now, get 177.35 because it's now officially supported on all CUDA capable cards. It get the best performance.

 
Even the 8 series??? Where do you get them, because I can't find them to download on the nVidia site for the 8 series card.
 
big jump from 45Mb to 72Mb driver size! ?

It keeps the CPU pegged to 93-100% which is impressive.

I'm wondering if it would do that for a quad core system with 2 cards SLI'd ?

Seems kind of odd the test is 4 hours long!?

So what if I got a 2nd 8800GT and put in my PCIe 4x slot ? (P35 mobo = non SLI capable)

Can't CUDA automatically scale to however many GPU's you have?

Looking at the Folding@Home site, it looks like you need to create a folder for each GPU, which seems dumb. Maybe it will be fixed with later versions.
 
I had to turn ZoneAlarm's automatic lock off, as it was stopping F@H from accessing the internet while I wasn't using my PC.

But the new GPU client earned 479 point in like 2 hours & 40 mins approx.
At that rate it should produce approx. 4,300 PPD. Production like this is really going to shake things up. All those people with quadcore headless folders, etc.. are going to mad when a few machines with 8800GTs will blow them out the water.

Has anyone else noticed a high pitched humming noise when the GPU client is active.

My PC is normally whisper client, so I notice little things. Also I have sensitive ears, as I notice those "mosquito ringers" etc.. that supposedly only teens can hear.

I'm going to try the GPU client out on my work PC monday to see what happens with a Geforce 8400GS.

You know it probably is the power supply making that noise.

B/c I think my old CPU/mobo set up used to do that when it was under Orthos load. Current CPU/mobo combination doesn't whine underload, but that might be b/c it uses a lot less watts. (45nm CPU, etc)
