Some interesting pieces of information have appeared today to suggest that we may not be waiting months for SLi kit to appear - it may be just a few weeks. At the very least we're close to official launch and hopefully some more benchmarks to show what it's capable of.
A chick (Ewle Ebonlore) on the NVNews forum has just got hold of a couple of 6800U PCIe cards from gameve.com......

Asked about availability of the SLi connector she responsed........
asked how long we'll have to wait for nForce4 she said............
She seems pretty knowledgeable so there's no reason to doubt what she says but also no reason to take it as Gospel truth either.
Another SLi-capable motherboard chipset looks to be well on the way also. This time from VIA (urgh) - the K8T890 Pro offers dual-gfx slots for PCIe cards and doesn't look a million miles off either. Check out the info here.
Over at the Inq, that utter asshat Fuad claims nForce4 Ultra board availability in November with SLi mobos 'a bit later'. So, SLi availability is anyones guess but I'm thinking official launch maybe around the end of the month and availability maybe a month later? That's just my wild-assed guess so don't believe everything you read on the forums - especially when it's written by the Coz.

I talked to EVGA about the connector (It doesn't come with it by default)
They will be available in 2 weeks and they wi'll ship it to me for free.

Actually the buzz I am hearing for SLI Nforce 4 is 2-3 weeks out.
SLI boards are already in the hands of reviewers.
They did have a problem with the A01 silicon and the 1000 Mhz transport bus. A02 silicon corrects that. Not sure why they delayed the Nforce 4 SLI to a few weeks after the single PCI express versions.
But VIA and SIS have a SLI chipsets ready to go too! It's going to be an interesting next 2-3 weeks with the mainstream lauch of retail PCI express MB's and video cards!
