NV-68 SLI setup.... leaking!

I finally found an elbow fitting to use on my NV-68 SLI, and fortunately it doesn't leak. However the connection between the two blocks is leaking. I have put clamps on the tub that connects them but it still leaks! any suggestions or help ? I (obviously) need to fix this.
 
I assume you've got 1/2" barbs on your NV-68? Maybe a chunk of 7/16" ID tubing rather than 1/2" either that or some teflon tabe around the barbs. Teflon tape usually works better with threads, but it may work in this case...

Do you suppose it's leaking from back pressure due to the elbow fitting?
 
im pretty knew to WC, explain alittle what u mean about the back pressure from the elbow? my loop looks like this... pump -> rad -> elbowfitting on nv-68 SLI(on the bottom)->through the two GPU blocks and then back to the res.
 
I had the same problem when I had my NV-78s...what you want to do (I think) is to put your cards in the case first and measure exactly how much tubing it will take to connect the cards...what I think is causing leaks is that you have too much tubing...which causes the cards to put pressure on the tubing in the middle...causing the leak...

It could be the elbow fittings too though
 
Anytime the water in a wc setup has to make a sharp turn or gets restricted in anyway, it creates backpressure. It's kinda like all the water can't make the 90 degree turn in the elbow, so it just hangs out by the elbow getting in the way of the other water coming through (kinda like Maryland drivers :rolleyes: ). That creates back pressure, which is going to look for the weakest part of your system to relieve itself. The NV-68 blocks are pretty solid, so the "weakest" point is probably the tubing connecting the two blocks.

I'm not saying this is definately what's happening, I'm just saying it could be. Rudager may have it right too--there may be too little or too much tubing between the two, which is creating a weak point.

Please let us know how you fix it, I've got to get my NV-68 SLI blocks installed and may run into the same problem!
