I'm running a Via P4PB 400 motherboard with 2ghz p4 chip. 1 gig of ram, radeon 9700 pro, sb live value. Awhile ago a symantec update came up...the ones with the yellow shield that pop up in the system tray...so I download it. Once it's done downloading...the computer crashes. Then...whenever I logged into my computer, explorer.exe would crash every 2 seconds, only giving me enough time to get into cmd prompt before it would crash again. I try to format the drive in dos...wouldn't go, said invalid drive. Then tried to do it through the windows xp startup disks. After the 6th disk, the screen goes black, then comes back on with a hard error: ntdll.dll. So...I get a new hard drive for christmas, brand new WD 160gb hard drive. Boot it up, after 6th disk to install windows, black screen, then hard error: ntdll.dll blue screen. I take out one of the sticks of memory, sound card and try again. Same outcome. I switch the two memories, same outcome. I'm thinking my motherboard has gone bad? Can anybody help me out?! MANY thanks in advance, my computer's been down for about 3 months...I've been workin on my dads computer...so thanks in advance.
