Ok, i just got a SB Live 24 external sound, now when i try to turn sampling to 24 bit it says not enough usb bandwidth. Whats up with that? anyone know. I also cant plug my usb ethernet adapter up to the front panel usb because it restarts my comp for some reason.
Any suggestions?

do you have usb1.1? 2.0 has some big bandwidth (400mbits/s peak, dont quote me on this)is 24bit using that much

I have 2.0 but it seems this damn thing only runs at 1.1 why would they market this at 24 bit when its usb 1.1?

24 bits * 96,000 (96k samples a second) = 2304000 bits a second

Thats about 2.2 kilobits of data a second, which should be well within USB1.1 bandwith.

Make sure the soundblaster is the only device plugged into its USB root hub, so its not competing for bandwith with other devices on its USB root hub.

Otherwise, I'd make sure your motherboard's chipset drivers are up to date and installed correctly, and you have the most current drivers for your soundblaster.
