Normal iPod boot time?

If I haven't used my iPod in a while, it takes a few seconds (10 maybe?) to boot. If I had used it recently it turns on instantly but if it has been a while it will take several seconds and show the giant Apple logo, like what it does when you turn it on the first time.

Is that normal?

Thanks. I just got back from lunch after it being off for about an hour and it booted right up. It must need to be off overnight or several hours for it to do that longer boot.
 
I believe it's a power-saving function. The "instant-on" is more like a sleep mode.
 
yeah, if you leave it off for more than i think 24hrs then it has to go through the long boot process which is ghey cause then it turns the clicker back on which i hate lol
less than 24hrs is instant on
