Noob PC Lighting Help/Advice

Hello everyone,

I am new to modding and I just successfully cut out a window in my Lian Li PC60A Plus case and I have a plexiglass window with a fan in it. I would now like to put lights in my case to make it interesting. I have no clue on how to do this and have read up and searched all I could find, but how excatly would I do this and what would I have to buy?

you could just get one or two cold cathode ray tubes. those are reletivly cheap and flood your case with light. look around newegg.com or something. sure they have some.
 
Another mod that looks good is the reactive fans, cables and tubing with a blacklight. Makes everything glow from "within" verses just lighting up the entire interior of the case.

A cold cathode ray tube? You mean Cold Cathode Flourescent Light. A cathode ray tube is a monitor. :p

But yeah, SVC has the best prices, especially for the clearance ones. Do a search for my posts and you'll see quite a few threads on the subject.

how many ccfl's does it take to create a pretty bight glow in the case? and can someone explain how the whole ccfl, inverter, on/off switches stuff is connected and used?
 
i just got dual ccfl tubes, depending on the brightness you want, one or two would be enough. I got mine at svc.com and they come with inverters and switches and all you need is an empty molex from you psu and u connect it and flip the switch. its easy as cake.
 
I got like 4 of these with my new case and they were enough to light it up all the way...and gave off a nice blue/UV brightness... nice for the price. :)

ccfl's are also cheap and great, but make sure you leave them off from time to time as the ballasts (power converter for the cahtode tube) get hot and burn out sometimes...
