Just comp my comp up and running, tried to play a cdnow audio sample, and I got no sound. I'm using Klipsch promedia 2.1 speakers. I plugged the cable into every port but nothing. All my volume controls are normal but no sound. This a chaintech nforce4 ultra motherboard. With the Realtek ac'97 audio stuff.. Any ideas?
 
The manual for my mother board says

remove the 2 jumper caps at pings 5-6 and 9-10 then plug it into the (optional) cable connector, pings 5-6 and 9-10 are shorted(default) to enable back panel audio.
So does that mean i did that to put in the front panel audio, the back panel wouldnt work anymore?
 
Depends on the case........ plug your speakers into the front panel jack and find out if it works
 
Ya I dont think I hooked them up right on my motherboard, so I"m just gonna put the jumpers back on the pins and see if it works. Prolly won't.
