Hi all

I have been getting a few "No Signal Input" messages recently. It is very similiar to what one might see if you didn't have a vid signal going into your monitor from your vidcard. Also, my rig seems to lock up at itermittent times, requiring a reboot.

Could my vidcard be dying? I told my g/f that I may need one as a result of the no signal errors...nudge nudge wink wink :) What about the lockups?

Thanks all

Lockups could be due to vid card over heating and/or dieing as well.

Check hsf for dirtiness, clean, make sure its on. yea sounds like a bad vid card.

Probally already done this but...

take the card out and reinstall it. that will ensure its seated properly and will wipe the contacts on the card with the motherboard connector contacts as you put it back in.

Check that your video cable is tightly plugged in and screwed down with no strain on it.

or

take it out and bash it againt the wall several times until little bits fall off. Do not reinstall it but gather up the little bits and show it all to gf. Go get new card.

Woot!!! Err, I mean, geez that's too bad. Guess I need a new card.

Seriously, thanks for the info.

Hey, how could I explain to the CFO, Chief Financial Officer, aka the g/f, that the vidcard spontanously exploded? Hmm, maybe I could say I was trying to overclock it when I heard a terrible explosion and smoke rising from the case? :>

No then she wouldnt let u OC later on... just tell her electronics die alot (and it does.. some times).
