ok, I have a dual PII. I have UD running primarily and F@H on the other cpu. When I boot up it says there is two cpu's. but when I run CPUz it says there is only one cpu. also when I have only UD running the CPU runs at 100%, on my P4 2.8C when I have only UD running it runs at 50%. Maybe I'm just imagining a problem, any help would be greatly appritiated :).

BTW: the 2.8C runs xp, the dual PII runs 2000 Pro.

with respect to the 2.8, it's normal to see 50% cpu usage on a HT cpu, you can run another copy of the client for increased performance (about +30% iirc).

2000 pro does support 2 cpu's, right? what shows up in task manager?

I know It's normal that the 2.8C shows 50%, I have UD on the first and F@H on the "Second". I was just useing that as an example as to what the dual PII should be like. I asked a guy a while ago about what windows supports smp, he said 2000 and XP. I'll do some research on that.

Well I just checked, Microsuck said that 2000 pro supports smp. Maybe I'll try some updates. Any other ideas?

2000 and XP-Pro support smp. XP home got no clue.

Last time I checked UD didn't support duallys, so you can actually run fah too and take advantage of both sides of that machine ;)

OOps, should have read that twice. Check your control panel, and system. Should show 2 there.

ok I finally got XP Pro to boot, don't know why it didn't earlier. I tried the control panel/system thing too, I don't think 2000 shows proccessors in the device maneger. XP Pro is bassicaly a clone of 2000, just with more features. Thanks for your help anyways guys. :)

Hey Relic, You can delete this thread if you want. Bassically has no content and me talking to myself solving my own problem...

so all is now kosher?

hey, at least we stayed on topic... there's no moose that's why  :D

just a note.. for Windows 2000 Pro to support SMP you have to tell it that at the time of installation otherwise it just runs off one CPU
