NMB-MAT = Panaflo????

I ordered some Panaflo fans from PerformancePCs. The picture even shows the Panasonic Panaflo sticker on the fan.

When I got them, they did not say Panaflo or Panasonic. They say NMB-MAT.

Doing a Google search, I found that Panaflo made these fans for NMB-MAT.

Now my questions are....

1. Are these in fact the EXACT same fans? (just different sticker)

2. Is this false advertising???
 
NMB-MAT bought the Panaflo division from Panasonic. AFAIK, they are still made by the same manufacture so they they are likely identical. Actually, I like the "Panaflo" branding. That NMB-MAT sounds like an "El Cheapo" company. That is just marketing after all..

watch out for those guys. i ordered some cables from them and they sent me two different kinds.. they were different shades of the color i wanted. when i complained they offered to send me the right cable in my next order :rolleyes: like i'm ordering from a place that can't even get me the correct cables i ordered lol.
 
I just bought 2 Panaflo 104CFM 2500RPM fan's last night and when I saw NMB-MAT I had the same reaction.

Then I remember reading about the buyout.
 
lets just hope that quality doesn't drop again. it got worse when they went from japanese manufacture to chinese.........maybe it'll improve, but i doubt it.
 
Yeah I found another online computer parts place lastnight that had the fans and actually put a disclaimer that NMB-MAT bought out Panaflo in 2004. They claim they are the exact same fans.

You can actually look at all the stats on the same site (panasonic) that shows the Panaflo stats. They look exactly the same stat wise. Part numbers seem to be the same too except they leave off the last few digits at the end of the typical Panaflo part#.

If you guys are interested, I started another thread here where I found how to order those rare OEM 3pin female molex connectors that connect to the actual fan housing. So now you can custom make your own sleeved cables.

I only found them in white, but according to the part#'s pdf files on AMB's site, you can get different colors like black.
