I just put on a Ninja to quite things down. It worked fine. Temps went down 5-7 C too.

However, it seems kind of loose with those pin mounts. I move my case some, but not much. I would just feel more secure if it had a bolt thru with a back plate. I have not seen for it.

I found this at svc.com. It says is was designed for Thermalright's Ultra-120, Ultra-90 775, and HR-01. I was wondering if it would work since the hole patterns are the same for most 775 MB.

This did work with the skythe ninja. I had to glue some nylon washers to the bottom of the ninja bracket too match the offset of the old pins. Not really hard, just a pain.

It appears to have dropped my load temps by 5 C. However, this maybe due to the crappy job I did putting the Ninja on the first time. It's a pain in the ass with your MB in the case. I took it out this time.

Would I do it again? Probably not. I would just find a way to brace the Ninja from the top and hoped it held.

I get crappy temps with my ninja, like 55c idle, at 1.4v....Ive remounted it atleast 7 times, im out of ideas, maybe i should try this? what did you have to do to mod it?

I just purchased the revb for use with a Q6600 on an LGA775 mobo. That being said, looking at the above threads have lead me to believe there is something seriously wrong with the standard mounting hardware. I have a revb in the mail ATM, but don't want to install it until I get more feedback. Any of you folks have an update?

I think the mounting is OK as long as you don't move the case much. Just by the nature of the design, most bolt thru methods will beat the expander pin of the stock Ninja.

I'm happy with my Ninja. I'm not sure if I would do the bolt thru thing again. It was interesting to see if I could do it.

I didn't have to mod it except for the nylon washers I used.

hmm might have to get that then, what are you temps? and where di you get that mounting plate?
