I'm looking to purchase this product but I would like to know if there is any word when Nik Silver Efex Pro 3 will come out, I know that they are on the 2nd version of it right now. I don't want to fork over my hard earned cash only to have the 3rd edition come out a couple of months later.

Sometimes, companies let you upgrade for free if the new release is available within a year or so. My suggestion for you is to e-mail Nik with the question.
