NFS: Underground Game Problem

Well I installed the game fine, and I got to play about 4 races and now when i try to race the file "speed.exe" crashes every time, and when i want to choose a car, i cannot go past the mazda or the game will freeze??? Is this a huge bug wiht the game, or it something wrong wiht my system????????
