I have a couple of questions about putting together a SFF system using this motherboard. Abilty to OC 10-25% would be nice......

Prospective specs:
Mobo: ABIT NF-M2 nView Socket AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6150 Micro ATX
CPU: Athlon 64 X2 4200+(65W) Windsor 2.2GHz
Memory: Patriot Extreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB)
Timing: 5-5-4-9
Voltage: 1.9V
Model #: PDC22G6400ELK


Question 1: Am I better off just getting "regular" X2 CPU (as opposed to the 65w flavor) and just undervolting it for lower heat generation?

Question 2: I chose the memory above since it seems to modestly overclock without >2v. Is this a valid critera, or should I just get lower CAS version @2.3v?
 
A) Dont worry about needing ram with <2v, the NF-M2 does up to 2.5v
B) CPU rated wattage doesnt matter, its up to you
C) Youll get much more than 10-20% of an OC with this board

I have see the specs - but I'm interested in a SFF at low power consumption in order to limit heat generation and the consequent need to "move air" (i.e. fan noise).

Huh! But what happens to power consumption of a "normal" X2 cpu when it is under-volted by 0.1v?

C) Youll get much more than 10-20% of an OC with this board.
It sure looks like this board is the obvious choice for current AMD mATX.
 
10% 20% OC... this board isn't limited. Its a highend board with japanese caps. You'll max out the cpu and memory if you wanted to but never the board. The core voltage can go up to 2.1v. I can get 360 x 8.5 3ghz from it. Thats a 50% OC, so they weren't kidding.

Undervolting a higher end processor (4200+) may yield the desired wattage results along with the desired performance results. Undervolting is like overclocking, it is not guaranteed how low you can go while maintaining a stable machine. For example, taking my Sempron from 1.4V down to 1.1V reduced power consumption from 66W @ 2.3Ghz down to 33W at 1.3Ghz.

YOU CANNOT UNDERVOLT ON THE ABIT!!! 1.35 is minimum and mine overvolts a bit.
