Here is what I got so far:

Intel P4 2.8 Northwood CPU
Asus P4P800 SE Motherboard
512MB PC-3200 DDR (Mushkin)
80 GB Western Digital HDD (8 MB Cache) UATA/133
40 GB Seagate HDD (2MB Cache) UATA/133
XFX Geforce 6600 GT AGP
Tutle Beach Santa Cruz Sound Card

Would it be best to get some RAM? I I havent had the CPU and Mobo that long, so im not looking to upgrade there. But I would like to get some better performance yet expecially in City of Heroes, and I am thinking some more system memory might do it.

BTW, I'm on DSL
 
check the speeds of your DSL to make sure you are getting the full potential out of it. Upgrade to either 1gig or 2gig of ram and you should be fine.

Increase the ram like others have stated, but sit back and be happy. that's a fine computer for now. Spend your money on beer and salty pretzels and you'll be happier.

I would be happy if I wasnt getting 20FPS avg. in CoH. ;)
 
If you're only getting 20fps with that rig, then something else is wrong.
Are your detail settings set too high?
is your resolution set too high?
do you have tons of craplets running in the backround on your machine?
any spyware or adware?

You should be getting more than 20fps even without the additional ram.
something else is wrong in there.

ive run all the appropriate scans, everything is clean, defragged the HDD, shut off all the non required startup programs,

I can't say it was 20 FPS< more like err 25-30 really, but its still choppy.
 
You should make sure AA is off and AF is minimal for that card. If your motherboard supports dual channel RAM you should make sure its running some matched sticks in dual channel as well.

I have one 512 MB stick, which is why i'm contemplating getting another matching 512 stick :p

either way I'm thinking that im getting the extra 512 MB of RAM
 
get another stick of 512. I'm sure you will get better FPS in coh. i just got another stick of 512 yesterday, and now my wow loading times are pretty much gone, and my fps are always at least 15 more then they used to be.
 
get another matching 512mb stick and run dual channel and try overclocking that 2.8 a little bit. the stock intel heatsink will hold till 3.2ghz or so if you keep the voltage stock. i personally would want a larger harddrive but you can decide that for yourself.
