Can we pleeease get links to articles so that they link directly to the article? im kinda sick of having to click the EXACT same thing AGAIN just so i can see it. Every time i click a news article in the forums it links to the news post on hardocp, which is nice and all but its the exact same info that is posted in the forum thread and it would be nice to have it be a direct link to the source.

Two words: Advertising Revenue

Otherwise known as, this site needs to make money somehow, and this is the one of the ways to get more people to view and maybe even click on ads. Even though it can be annoying, its well worth my time to click once more just because of all the enjoyment I get out of the forums and the site in general (its a small price to pay). If you don't like it, don't click on the links, or just read the main page and then go to the forums instead of the other way around.

We don't always get what we want, and you have to realize that this is first and foremost a business. Businesses exist to make money, or in the case of the forums at least break even.
 
My understanding was it wasnt about the advertising revenue as much as they want people to actually go to HardOCP instead of just hardforum. Most people just tend to come here and the real hard work goes into the site more so than here and that's what they want people to see.
 
Will not happen. The one you saw linked direct was simply an error. Ad REVENUE.

You may not like to hear it, but the site would not be here without it.
 
does simply loading the ads give revenue, or does one actually have to click the ads to support the site?
