well i wasn't able to find the $200 ATI radeon 9800 pro in my local compusa so i decided to go online and look for a good deal. turns out newegg had a one day sale on their OEM sapphire radeon 9800 pro for $213. not as good as the retail ATI one, but still a pretty good deal. so i decided to buy it a few hours before the sale ended, thinking i just saved a bunch of money. after the sale ended, i checked newegg's site to see what the original price was for the card. $215. WHOOPEEEEE i saved $2!!!!!!!!!
pretty cheap trick by newegg to get sales...but hey, it worked

they have sales on all kind of stuff every day thats just a few bucks less. If they had taken off a huge amount of money on everything they sell on those 1 day sales they'd put themselves out of business. I don't really undertsnad how thats sly but whatever.

every dollar counts.... but the last bit to consider is shipping. If someone is using free FedEx-Saver Express, and someone else is charging $15 for generic UPS... can make my mind up for me if the card itself is a couple dollars more but comes with the free fast shipping.

It is hard for newegg to have a HUGE sale, because they already have some of the best prices around.

They do have the best prices and service but why the fuck do they have to physically operate in CA? By the time I add sales tax, it usually ends up being higher than other out-of-state vendors.

If you live 20 minutes from their warehouse, like me, you get your stuff the next day! So I guess the tax is kind like paying for faster shipping ~ (thats how I justify paying the extra $$ in tax ordering from them)

Quite often its the free shipping that made me decide to go newegg. I have seen so many places have a $100 component priced $10 lower than newegg and then want $15 for shipping. When a company wants to gouge me on shipping, I won't shop there anymore. Newegg beats many companies prices after shipping is calculated, but not necessarily before.

BTW, 2 bux IS 2 bux man!

What I absolutely HATE.. is you find a link for an excellent item, at an increadible price..
You go to the link, and the item itself is NOTHING close to what was in the ad, but they have 5-15 drop down tabs to 'upgrade' a little of this and a little of that.. so by the time you get to where you were supposed to be to begin with, youve payed like $60 on bullshit that should have allready been part of it!!!

btw, i checked newegg's site today and they lowered the price of the radeon to $214. so i saved $1!!!
