Well, i ordered stuff from newegg on thursday. They are due to arrive monday and tuesday. One of the three will arrive monday and the last two will arrive tuesday. I got 2day if it matters

Do i have to sign for these?

I ask this because i will not be around monday till later on in the day because i will be attending an martin luther king day workshop and tuesday i have school. Could i just leave a note for him to put it in the garage?

I've never recieved something through fedex before.

They may leave a note saying they were there and they will try again the next day.

This is the correct response. They do not leave it there unless you sign their doortag and they come the second day seeing that they have permission to do so.

When I was expecting a package, I would leave a signed permission slip with the routing number and all info and tape it to the front door. This is acceptable practice and I never missed a shipment.

if you live in an area where you don't have to worry about them leaving a package.. the next time they come and you answer, ask them if you can put a signature on file... that's what i did, so everytime they deliver i don't have to worry about whether i'm home cause they just leave it.

i believe that when you confirm your order off the Egg you can tell them what to do with the parcel if you are not home, fed ex leaves my stuff on my front porch because i am one of about 5 who would actually know what to do with the stuff i get in my town:rolleyes:

I'd ask my neighbor for permission, then leave them a note to deliver it to the neighbor if they are home. I've never had to do that, though, because I've always been home when it was delivered. ;)

they'll either leave the package or leave a note for you to sign so they can leave it at the door the next day

I've never had a problem with them leaving packages on my door step, or on the side of my house, but on Friday, i recieved a package from NewEgg and the damn FedEx guy wouldn't leave it there (i was at work) so i got home and had one of those notes on my door and had to drive my ass 15min to the damn FedEx warehouse that he took it back to. I was so pissed about that, we've done the whole release form thing before and it's never been a problem, until last Friday:mad: How do they expect people to be around to sign for packages at 1 in the afternoon?!? People do work, go to school, and have lives! They they want you to pick it up, yet they close at 5, right when i normally get of work...err...i'm just bitter at FedEx right now. I had to head out of work 30 minutes early just to make it there so i didn't have to wait until monday ot recieve my package.

Anyways, just make sure you have the "release" form thing signed and turned in. If you dont', maybe leave a note on the door for the fedex guy with your signature. It usually works fine, but maybe there was a new driver on my route in this case :(
