where did it go? did we loose there sponsor or is it being changed?

I use Opera 7.60 Preview release on WinXP.

Since upgrading to SP2, I haven't been able to view these forums with javascript turned on. I would get 100% cpu usage and Opera would crash. Other pages with ads etc. don't do that. Not really sure if it was sp2 because I installed SP2 around the same time the newegg banner went from flas to gif.

Now that the banner is gone, I have no problems.

It could be SP2, or most likely Opera (since it's a preview release), but just wanted to point out that that my problem at least appears to be related to the banner.

The forum looks like it's missing something without the new egg banner. Maybe Kyle's going to replace it with a new one. The ASUS ad is still on the bottom.

i had occasional issues with that darn banner too. Though it was convenient as a shortcut...

weird
Look in the source
Code:
<center><script language="JavaScript1.1" src="http://altfarm.mediaplex.com/ad/js/4340-23268-9829-1?mpt=[CAC!!!!!TER]&mpvc=">
</script>
<noscript>

    <img src="http://altfarm.mediaplex.com/ad/bn/4340-23268-9829-1?mpt=[CAC!!!!!TER]"
alt="Click for Newegg.com's daily deals" border="0">
</a>
</noscript></center>

mediaplex.com must be brokered

edit: wait, wtf, why is H E B U S a censored word? this is in the word cacheh-e-b-u-s-ter

A banner up top does not bother me, but it seems all newegg banners, no matter what their type, cause problems. The older newegg flash banner from images1.newegg.com would have been fine if newegg would have set the mime type right on their server.

The asus banner has never given me problems.

I hope whatever banner goes back up top, doesn't cause any problems again.

Yep and so is the 100% cpu usage with js turned on in Opera 7.6pr1.

To help out, I'll keep track of this problem as see if it continues to happen in future builds.

Plus I'll file a bug report and the devs will check it out.
