Newbie Hardware Question

Christmas was kind to me, and I'm planning on buying a new motherboard and processor. I have done some research and have come to the conclusion that the ASUS "A8V Deluxe" with a AMD Athlon 64 3200+, Socket 939 processor is the best option.

I'm writing this because these chouses were reached with only 2 days research. If you think this is a good setup, please tell me so. If you can tell me of a better one, and why, I would be grateful.

These are my limitations:
$350 or less for both the mother board and CPU
Relatively simple setup
 
It depends if you want to jump to PCI-E bandwagon yet or not.

PCI-E version:
$150 on a Nforce 4 non-SLI board
$200 on the best A64 CPU

If you want to keep the AGP route, the Asus and A64 is a good combo. If you feel adventurous and overclocking, replace the Asus with MSI Neo2 Plat.
 
Thanks raxor2050, I think the PCI-E is the way to go, but my funds are limited and if I did that I would have to buy a new vidieo card. That and... I have no idea how PCI-E works :).
