i sold my x600 pro and now with the money i got from it and some extra iam planning to buy a new one. in my prise range there is cards like:radeneon X800 GT,X800RX,X800GTO
and maybe a vanilia nvidia 6800. i was thinking of a radeneon but whate hell are gt,rx,gto and how these compare to pro,xl and xt?are there any mods to make gt,rx and gto to pro,xl and xt?what would be a smart buy and when 7600:s(the 6600 series to 7800) come out?

*I am assuming AGP and you're not upgrading to PCI-e as that's the message I got from your post*

but the XL, XT, GTO, etc, they just refer to the actual model of the card

like you know with cars you have base model, then sports model, and luxury model? same idea

here's a list of benchmark for some AGP cards
http://www.graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20041004/index.html

it doesn't have the complete list, but it gives you an idea of what each card is capable of doing, and where they rate with one another...
this does not take into considering overclocking or anything (flashing, etc), just the cards as they are

there's also a sticky at the top regarding AGP

my advice is, set a budget, let us know what it is, and I am sure we can all make recommendations within that budget

no i have a pci-e and of course im upgrading to a pci-e card.my mistake if my writing was bad and gave that assumption that i would upgrade on agp.

ps.im not and idiot i was saying that back in the days with ati you had a reference card let's say 9700 but the pro version was faster and a xt was even fasterer. i just dont know these new gt,rx,gto etc. and i was trying to ask if one these was a better buy than the others like if you can mod it to better card or if some these models have ridicilous low mount of pipelines etc.

and the budget somethink like 150-200€.
