New Toy - Canon Rebel XT

Now between a full time job, grad school, and planning my wedding I hope I can find time to play with my toy. I need to look at good lens to pair up with the Rebel XT....

Nice purchase, but I'm a bit biased :D jk!

Initial impressions? Small but fits nice huh? :)!

Well enjoy your new toy, I know I'm enjoying mine!

How should I break in this camera....
Buy a battery grip... unless you are a girl. j/k Its so small! I had the original rebel, and it felt small without a grip. If you are used to the ziess lens... you might as well buy a new lens while you're at it! Congrats and good luck with your shooting.

The Rebel XT is one sweet camera. Unfortunately it keeps making me buy lenses. :D Now the thing wants a Canon MR-14EX Macro ringlite flash.

My bad habit taken with my trusty Canon S45:

Ain't that the truth, I too am getting close to buying a couple of lenses... Very soon, I can't wait :D!

Hey bro, is that the Canon 50mm 1.8 II? That is one of the lenses that I am looking at. Would it be possible for you to take a picture of it on the Rebel XT... I just want to see how it would look like... Thanks ! :)

I took this in auto mode just a few minutes ago. I got the lens for $25 used with the 100mm Macro lens. It cost me $450 for both lenses. I'll try to post a better pic tomorrow after work.

Thanks, but I really would like to see the 50mm mounted onto the Rebel XT if possible. I'm sorry for the confusion. I just want to get an idea of how my camera would look like with the 50mm Lens on... Thank you for any help... :) . And $25 bucks is a damn good price for it.

Here ya go. It's a short lens and very lite. The 100mm macro lens is long and very heavy

Thank you so much... It looks good, I like it. I like the fact that it's short and light, then I can just set it down without having to worry about it wobbling or falling over (I have the Battery Grip/ Vertical Grip and laying the camera down can be tricky due to the XT's smaller stature :) ). This lens will make a very good "lug around town lens" :). Thanks again Nascar!
