this is the first time i am building a machine with sata harddrive and i was looking at the back of harddrive and i see that it has a power thing for a normal power supply and the part that the cable from the motherboard hooks up to which i connected but when i ordered my new power supply it said it came with 2 sata connectors in the power supply for two devices.... and where is the special connecter go? Is it the port next to the cable from the motherboard hooks to that is right next to it or does my western digital harddrives have the option of one or the other? or do i have to have both connected?

From techreport.com in reference to the 74gb raptor

Though the drive features a standard four-pin Molex connector, it's also packing Serial ATA data and power plugs. You can use either of the drive's power plugs, though I prefer the four-pin Molex plug since it fits a little more snugly than the Serial ATA power connector.

You can use one or the other. Don't use both.
