New system problems, probably easy answers :)

I just built a cheap secondary system and I'm having a few problems with it. First of all the BIOS says that it is an Athlon 1800+ when the chip is a 2400+. All I saw in the BIOS was a FSB frequency and it's set at 200. I'm sure there is something dumb that I am missing here....

The other problem is the XP Pro install. I get the "blue" section of the install where I formatted the harddrive and it copies a bunch of files then it went to restart and now it won't POST. I had some trouble with it posting in the beginning when I had some slave/master/cs jumper settings mixed around but it was okay after that. Any suggestions? Heres the specs:

Shuttle AN35N-Ultra mobo
ATI Radeon 9500Pro
AMD 2400-266 Athlon XP TBred
2x Geil Value PC2700 256mb
Samsung Floppy
40 Gig WD Hard drive
LG CD-R/RW drive
Thermalright 900U

Thanks :)

CPU frequency should be 266mhz, shouldn't it? It's a T-Bred CPU, so it runs aat 133mhz FSB (266mhz DDR).

Yeah it should be 266. On my Asus board I set my FSB to 200 for a resulting frequency of 400 I guess. So is this board different? I'm still a little confused about this.

are you getting a beep code? You should hear a series of short beeps during boot up to help diagnose a problem.
