New some help with processor

The Core 2 Duo CPUs are best to get today I think, they are best, except for the Quad core which are mainly for video encoding and such

The E6300 is the slowest model I think, but if you don't have cash for the E6600, then get the E6300, you can also overclock it

I am not sure about the MB, you might be better with another MB

Do you plan on using more than one graphic card?

Also list the whole system specs so others will be able to help you

newegg is offering that board and cpu combo for $10 cheaper

He only plans on using 1 card I think...He's switching over from an AGP system so I thought for christmas I'd get him the Processor and MB and maybe a PSU..I've got an old PCI-E X800 and 2x512 ddr2 ram im going to give him until he can buy newer stuff..

I wrote about the CPU

For single card, get either a Gigabyte 965P chipset MB, or ASUS 965P 'P5B Deluxe'

The 965P chipset is the best and fastest for curent single card solutions
