New PC won't post

Ok so I just put together a new PC. I power it on and it wont boot up and the monitor never kicks on. I've checked the assembly from start to finish 3 times now, so here's the parts.

Case: Xoxide X-Dreamer II Black (the windowed one)
(I'm using the power supply that came with it, it's a TurboLink 350)
Mobo: Abit KV7b 1.0
CPU: AMD 2600 XP 333 FSB
Memory: Kingston 512mb 2700 DDR
Heatsink/fan: Thermaltake Volcano 7
HDs: Western Digital Caviar 80gb 5400rpm / Maxtor 40gb 5400rpm
Video: BFG Tech Nvidia 5700 Ultra 128
 
Yeah, the case hook ups to the mother boad were configured properly, and just on a whim I tried all other orientations too, no dice.

If this helps, I during the fist couple power-ons I had the second 12v P4 power plug connected to the motherboard before I realized it wasn't supposed to be.

Are there any visible signs on the processor if it's fried?
 
I don't have another PSU readily available though I thought that would be the next thing to try. I have to take one out of another PC tommorrow and try that.

See, samet hing, I get it to boot up ( or I did atleast.. ), and then it shut off after about 10-20 seconds. It did this twice, and now It won't even turn on anymore.
 
Ya, when I put my PC together something like that happened, the thing wouldnt boot up no matter what I did. It turns out that I'm a complete moron because I plugged my keyboard into the wrong port. Always check the simple things before doing anything radical.
 
Everything is plugged in correctly for me.

I think I killed my power supply with the three times of my comp just shutting down after a few seconds.

Damn.
 
You can simply check the power supply by removing the connector from the motherboard and then connecting the green wire with one of the black wires. That is what the motherboard does when you power on your system. If you do that, the PSU should power on. If it doesnt, its broken.

Also, if your system shuts doen after ~10secs you may have the cpu fan connected to the wrong header. The mobo detects this and decides that the CPU fan is not running and then shuts down the system to prevent further damage.

You may also have a short-circuit on your hands. Just remove the mobo from the case and connect only the most essential parts outside the case: CPU+HSF+RAM+videocard. If this setup works outside the case you should check the hex screws in the case under the motherboard.
