Alright, I just built up my machine. But a problem arrose:

I turn the PC on, and the monitor stays black.
What's wrong?
Any questions regarding the system, ask. I shall tell.

What type of video card is it? Make sure the vid card is fully pressed all the way into the AGP slot, and is locked in.

I'm using Onboard, I have a GF FX5200, But I don't want to use it till I get the new Power Supply

Note* This Machine is for testing purposes. It isn't my main machine.

Well, try it with a GFX card in the AGP slot.. if that works then you know its the onboard.

hook up a speaker and see if you get beeps

could be a short
take it all out of the case a and set it up piece by peace to make sure your seating everything right.

reset cmos

unplug psu
mover jumper from 1-2 to 2-3
pull out batt.
wait like 20min
put battery back in
move jumper back
plug in then start up

or you could have a bad board which = RMA:(

that happened to me a long time ago and it happened to be that my cpu was dead so i rma'ed it

plug the PC into the wall?
plug the monitor into the wall?

Im not trying to be a dick..but sometimes the most obvious is over looked...other than that if the GFFX card dont work and the onboard dont work your PSU could be bad, the CPU or ram could be bad...or you just gont the power buttons plug plugged in wrong.
when all else fails...fuck it

well do the fans come on?

 that is the coolest knife i have ever seen

i want one!

where did you get it?

Does it make a noise?, does the hd power up? you know any error beeps?

Sometimes its as simple a s a piece of shit monitor that cant handle the defualt refresh rate of your video . We need more info!

Use a bigger hammer.

No, it won't make the computer work, but it will make you feel better :)

I have to agree with you, but benchgrinders and a drillpress do make you feel good, too! (I made my Xbox cpu into a keychain)

I found out the problem, I had taken the PSU out of an older comp. Apparently the PSU doesn't have a 4 pin 12V input for the motherboard. Which is why it won't work.

I still have to go out and buy one tho
