today I bought a new mobo, cpu and 512 more memory for my current computer and installed the new mobo, cpu, and ram into my case and hooked up just the basics to get it booted and when i turn on the computer the monitor light is a yellow color and it just says check something and that the monitor is working fine, i guess i forgot to hook up some cable, any help appreciated, btw i got the amd 3200 64 bit and an asus k8v se deluxe.

I also tried using a different video card and different monitors and got the same error

Sounds possibly like the motherboard, or CPU or RAM. Break it down to the basics and see if you can get it to POST. Pull all of the PCI cards except the video card, pull the drives, pull the new RAM.

Make sure all of the jumpers are set correctly on the motherboard, sometimes they ship with the CMOS jumper set to Clear.

If you can get it to post, start adding things back in to determine the faulty part.

just so u know...u usually have to reformat ur HDD with a new mobo...and check ur ram is the same type i dont kno the specifics but i am pretty sure theres something about the ram that needs to be the same

fixed the problem, I didn't have some atx cable plugged in near the processor.
