New Motheroard question

Computer upgrades

I am going to be upgrading my computer. I have a couple questions.

I already have 1gb "2x 512mb OCZ"of memory. would i be better of getting two more of the same type of memory the OCZ or getting the 2x 1gb.

I have two motherboard listed in my wish list MSI and DFI any opinions on them

will the faster memory make that much of an increase is performance.
 
some people have stability issues with 4 sticks of ram, plus it will run a tab slower.. enough to really notice, I doubt it, but thats debatable.
