Alright -- at the moment I've got my E6420 under a Swiftech Apogee GT (not bowed) on a 680i LT. The 680i LT NB is under a DangerDen NB block. Pump is a Laing D5 Vario and radiator is a Swiftech MCR-320 with 3 Yate Loon mid-speed fans in a pull config, top mounted externally.

3.6Ghz at the moment at 1.55 vcore before vdroop. High vcore worries me -- I get all paranoid, afraid I'll kill the chip.

24C idle 56C load (Orthos, small FFTs, ran ~10 minutes just to get an idea of the temperature)
Not sure how much more I can get out of it. Others with similar chips, what are you running?

Things I'm most worried about at the moment are the CPU vcore and NB temp. It gets in to the mid 50's -- 53-56 C -- even with the waterblock... assuming I'm reading the right thing with Everest. MCP is the Northbridge, right? What do these things usually run? Think I have a bad mount?
 
Your temperatures are fine as far as preventing damage. You won't actually damage the chips until your temps near 100C. If you suspect a poor mount the easiest thing to do is simply try another mount, make sure to check the thermal paste when you undo the mount so you can get an idea of what the contact was like before.
 
Got 3.6Ghz 1 hour+ (stopped it, didn't crash) Orthos stable at 1.55 vcore. Trying to get it higher.

It'll boot in to Vista at 3.8Ghz 1.60 vcore but Orthos fails immediately upon starting the test, so I'm figuring I'm running out of vcore... and running at 1.60 vcore scares the hell out of me anyway.

Seems to be Orthos stable at 3.69Ghz 1.60 vcore... which is ~190Mhz better than I've ever managed Orthos stable before. Warbles like a damn banshee the whole time though.

Edit: Crashed out after ~30 minutes and did a RAM dump on me. Backing it down to 3.6 where it was behaving better.
 
Got the Fuzion GPU block in the mail today and did a tear down preparing to add it to the loop... only to realize that the stupid Zalman RAMsinks I was using won't stick at all anymore. Ordered a D-Tek unisink for the card -- tired of dealing with that crap, the things fall off all the time and I don't want to attach them permanently. Guess the machine is just out of commission for the next few days while I wait on the mail... again.

Guess the machine is just out of commission for the next few days while I wait on the mail... again.

the unisink is great for a budget cover for the gtx.... as for ramsinks i learnt long ago to use that arctic silver ceramique stuff to keep them stuck on as i could never get them to stick properly even when they were new:D

as for voltages.. everyone i know doesnt go over 1.5, although im worse than you.. i'll never go over a couple of notches over stock lol

That stuff is permanent, though, and I've got a lifetime warranty on the GTX... but I have to reinstall the stock HSF for warranty service, so I have to be able to get the RAMsinks off without damaging anything.

ahh yeh i didnt think of that.. the last card i used ramsinks on was a 6600gt or some crap so it didnt matter lol:p

if it was a card like that i woulda just cleaned the ram chips with the arcticleaner kit about 3 times then tried sticking them on, that woulda worked good

but seeing as you ordered the unisink thing it doesnt matter now, i woulda done the same thing in your position

They were a pain in the ass the first time 'round. This time they /all/ fell off on the vregs which were cleaned well beforehand, several times. This is partly because there's almost no surface area for the sinks to stick on the vregs. I bought two Zalman RAMsink kits rather than the Swiftech kit with properly shaped sinks the first time 'round, so it's partly my fault. I'll probably sell the sinks for next to nothing to someone planning to install them permanently.
