New Intel "nettop" platform: Pineview

Ah, so this is how they're going to totally shut out NV from making Atom chipsets. I hope that the IGP that goes into it is actually worth a damn for video playback.

I hope it's worth a damn in general. Obviously it won't be able to play Crysis, but since it's coming out a full generation after AMD HD3200 / HD3450, I would hope it would be at least as good as that one.

Lololol you expect way too much - just because it's "newer" doesn't mean it's better, not even close. A newer Q8200 isn't better than a Q6600. A 9600GSO isn't better than a 8800GTX. And here's one to take home - an Atom isn't better than anything before it. Get where this is going? You want gaming performance, there are gaming cards. Satisfying CrimandEvil's hope for HD playback (1080p I'm assuming, since current Atom can do 720p no problem) is much more realistic and sought-after.

How is hoping that it's as good as the HD3200 expecting way too much? I'm not expecting 8800GTX levels of performance. 1080p playback would be nice (like the HD3200). Playing Quake III or Team Fortress Classic at 720p would be nice, too (like the HD3200). lolololol...notice a pattern?

And your definition of "better" isn't very clear. The 9600GSO isn't a great video card by any stretch of the imagination, but you're cherry-picking a bad example from a company that's notorious for whipping out shitty product rehashes with newer names. The Q8200 is a different processor than a Q6600. It has less cache. It's also much, much improved when you consider performance/watt.

Same as the atom...it's not faster than what came before it, but it's certainly better in it's target segment.
