Im hoping somebody can offer some advice. Last night I finally decided to upgrade from by MSIK7N2 Board with a Barton 2800 processor and install a full opteron system. System setup includes,

1.8 Opteron
SK8N Motherboard
Corsair Dual DDR REG 1G PK
ATI Radion 9800 pro w/256m
Water cooling for all main processors
FOrget what make but 470 watt power supply
XM PCR
Z-Board
Pioneer DVD-RW
CDR
Dual 250g HD in Raid config (soon to be Seagate scuzzy)
Maxwell 150g back up drive
LogiTech Mouse
PQI Multi card reader

Ok heres the problem, We got everything in and started windows up and wiped all the drives clean. We loaded windows and set all bios. then we set up the raid configuration and then restarted. We installed the drivers and then after the drivers were installed it comes back and saz that the there are no recognized hard storage devices on the computer to check correct connection power etc.... but when you go back into drive assignment the bios recognizes the drives in their approperiate locations and array's. any thoughts?

This doesn't answer your question, but I'm assuming your a gamer by the video card you have. Why would you make such a huge downgrade in performance by going from an Athlon 2800+ to an Opteron that sucks for gaming?

oops..... wrong number on the processor....

Make sure your jumpers are set corectly.

Make sure you got the newest bios. 1004

Btw I am OCing at 229 fsb 2.3 gihz (300mhz oc)
Stock Cooling Voltage . stock everything Full load 44 Idle 38

I haven't had any probs and not a single BSOD. I use Inventor as well.

Make sure your using the cd-rom raid drivers cause the website ones didn't work for me. ( I did have sata raid)

If that doesn't work repair and basically find all the right promise drivers you can and when it asks you to install them just keep adding everyone that you have xp and 2k, nt4 ones. The os usualy chooses the right ones.
