Mr. Bowman has released project 10111 to advmethods. This is a GPU2 project for a study on how ubiquitin folds.

Points: 494
Timeout: 2 days
Deadline: 3 days

Note that, in my testing, I found these to be about 15% slower than the fastest GPU2 WU's out there. 3680 PPD on a 9600GSO with 1782 shaders.

These are in line with the P10109 WUs performance-wise then?

Yeah, unfortunately.
I don't mind all that much actually as long as we see the occasional mix of other WUs. The P10109s have low CPU utilization, and even though that won't completely compensate for the modest boost to the SMP client, it isn't as bad as the lower PPD might suggest in systems where different client types are present. I'm all for WU variety though, and hope the 450s, 783s, 587s and 353s continue.

Are there more of these particular kinds of WUs slated for release in the near future?

I'm not privy to that information, I only know what is currently in beta and there is nothing else at the moment.

Mr, Bowman doesn't screw around, he's now already released these to the general public.

Another good thing about this new WU series is its stability. That could be the reason why they're being released to general distribution quickly.

It's been a while since I've seen any truly unstable GPU units, advmethods or otherwise.

well i got 6 of em in a row yesterday on my 9800GTX, so i pulled the advmethods flag off....1 or 2 fine, but 6 in a row....

woohoo glad im not running -advmethods anymore... just been running the standard gpu client getting gpu3 non fermi WU's.. love it because no more tornado sound in my apartment from my fans running at 50%+.. havent gotten a gpu2 WU in almost 3 weeks.. kinda nice..

edit: wrong thread, hang on.. :p
