So I could not resist the sale and picked up a 61" DLP from Samsung. It is the HL-S6187W which looked amazing in person in Best Buy & I found it online for $2100 shipped and a 4 year protection plan that includes free bulb replacement.

Does anyone have any experience with Samsung DLP's? I was going to get this or the Sony SXRD HDTV. They both support 1080p however I was not sure which was better and decided I like the Samsung picture and bezel frame the most. Anyone know if the SXRD was the better of the two or for the price I paid for the Samsung, who cares?

Here is a link to the Samsung

I just picked up a 57 mits DLP. Far and away the the DLP is the ticket IMHO. Enjoy your new toy and dont forget to hook up your puter to it. Gaming on it is a trip. :D

DLP is the best bang for the buck in HDTV. I'm getting one once I replace my 50" Rear Projection LCD Sony HDTV

Man this same TV from Best Buy with the 4 year warranty = $3400 after taxes

That is insane I can save $1000 online.

I'm in the same market and looked at both 56" and 61" DLP's (HL-S5687W and HL-S6187W) versions and maybe it's because both CC and Ultimate Electronics didn't have them hooked up to anything decent. I found at even 15' away the 61" looked stretched and could really see the blocky pixels. I found that none of that on the 56" displaying the same source.

I was wondering if the 61" really does distort that badly. I'd mainly be using it for Movies and PC, and when I have the extra funding get a cable or sat tv package.

i hear the speakers on the sammy aren't that great, but if you got that kind of cash to drop on a TV you most likely have a decent surround sound hooked up to it..
I just got a 52 dlp mitsu and i'm loving the hell outta it..and like the other poster said def. hook up your puter to it!
