My friend had an eMachine for several years, and accumulated a lot of important info on her hard disk, then the Machine just quit. So, after trying to fix it, the geek squad told her it was fried (and i tried as well, it's pretty messed up), she got a brand new HP. My question. Could I some how get the info on the old HDD connect it as a second drive in the new computer and copy the files over to the new hard disk? How would I go about doing it, i mean if they have the same drive letter or something wouldnt that mess things up? Thanks for your imput.

Open up the PC and plug it in making sure its set via the jumpers properly and should show up as a another drive letter assuming you did NOT unplug/move, etc. the 1st hard drive. But i'm starting to wonder if what i just explained briefly will even make any sense to you... :p
