See any problems with this? Yes AMD dual core is around the corner and PCI express is out. But PICX cost $$$$$$ and the dualcore wont be out for another year IMO. But please LMK what you think.

Looks OK to me. Personally I would get the OEM version of the CPU and save $40, and put that towards a Zalman CNPS 7000B CU. But that's just me.

I have to agree on the dual-processor/PCIX comment. It might be here, or around the corner, but it is also expensive.

I think the 3400+ is the bargain Athlon64 chip right now. It runs 2.4ghz, and to get that speed on the Socket 939 you have to pay upwards of $400. And dual-channel doesn't make as much of a difference on the Athlon64 as it does for the Pentium IV. Don't get me wrong, it surely increases performance somewhat, but not at the cost premium that AMD is asking for the Socket 939 chips. IMHO, a Socket 939 3400+ (2.2Ghz) is not going to match a Socket 754 3400+ (2.4Ghz).

Good components so far. I can personally recommend the 3400+ and the WD 74Gb Raptor!

What are you doing for graphics? Also, just my own personal feelings - spend a bit more on a nice case - along with the PSU there's no reason that a quality case won't give you ownership satisfaction for a long time after the rest of the components have become outdated.

I agree about the case. And I can vouch for the DFI Lanparty. I recently got one myself, and I love it.
