new case suggestions...

what are u going for? simply looks? quiet? cooling? if your trying to get silent and are using something with a heatpipe to cool the NB, remember that BTX doesnt do too good with something like ASUS A8N deluxe.

I am looking for looks, cooling, build quality AND sound dampening.
 
I would say the P180 is the quieter case. Thick steel doesn't resonate, whereas aluminum does have the tendancy to vibrate a little bit. The drive mounting/dampening system in the P180 is probably the most superior out of all cases on the market right now (save the P150). However, wiring in the P180 will be a complete PAIN.

Make sure you get a power supply with long enough leads to reach the ATX12V connection at the top of most motherboards...
 
I've seen a lot of complaints about the P180's panels warping, and other build-quality problems.

I've never, personally, run into an unhappy Lian-Li owner. I'd personally never spend that much on just a case (You can make any decent case nice and quiet with the right stuff) but I think the P180's a got nothing towards that LiLi in the looks department, and I'll wager it holds up better as well.

If you've got the extra money to burn, I think you'd be happier with the 767.

Ah yes, forgot about that. Though it does seem that Antec is working hard to fix most people's problems.
 
They're both great looking cases, but i'd go with the Lian Li.

I keep hearing about wiring difficulties and quality problems with the Antec, so i'd at least have to get my hands on one and check it out close up before buying.

Also, i've got the LiLi V1000 and have been VERY pleased with the quality.
 
Well, I ended up getting the Antec. I hope it isn't too much of a pain to work with inside, and I hope the front panel isn't warped. :confused:

I previously owned a PC-60, but decided on the antec P180. *shrugs*

You're right, I have never owned one but I have seen one and I still don't think it worth to put that much cash on a Lian Li. Just because you own one that doesn't mean it's good. You better defend you lian li since you spent so much money on it.
 
the li li and p180 have different strong points, but from a price to performance ratio the p180 wins hands down.
 
If you look at photo's the P180 is great.. If you know Antec you expect a lot.

The P180 is not that great once you get it.
Putting a power supply in is crazy hard to wire up clean.
It has a lot of room where you don't need it, and is way tight where you need room.
The overall design looks good, once complete, but for me it was a real pain to get right.

EDIT - It is VERY quiet tho.
 
I currently use a Lian-Li PC-6089 and it sucks.
Expensive, terrible air-flow design and noisy as hell.
I will soon build 2 systems and will use the Antec P180 for both.
