My 5 year old 70 dollar relatively cheap but standard pack access Promaster backpack camera bag gave up the ghost after I started shoving the new 100-400L in it. After researching bags, I thought I would really like the sling-type side access panels that many bags have. 5 years of having to completely dismount the bag onto something flat, unzip, take out the camera, zip back up and then remounting was getting really old.
Visiting Kenmore Camera here in the Seattle area, I settled on this one - the Tamrac Evolution 9:

<edit>bah, forgot the [tube][/tube] doesn't work on [H] </edit>
It was the only one they had out of a sh*t-ton of bags from 4 manufacturers that could carry my standard kit of 50D with 24-105, 100-400L, and Tokina 12-24 lenses comfortably AND have the side access of a sling type bag. As a bonus, it fits 17" laptop and can be used backpack style or sling style. The shoulder straps could use a tad more width and padding, but that was the only real downside.
Overal this will make packing the gear around while keeping it protected a lot easier than before.
